PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A female Allegheny County Jail inmate tried to sneak in drugs Tuesday, via a little help from her boyfriend — and her husband, according to police.

Inmate Sheryl Coleman’s boyfriend and husband were arrested Tuesday after each tried to bring her drugs at the magistrate’s office.

Police say the foiled drug drop started when Coleman appeared before Justice Carla Swearengen-Batch on retail theft charges Tuesday afternoon.

Coleman’s boyfriend, Christian Panko, is accused of leaving drugs in the back of a toilet allegedly for Coleman to smuggle back into jail.

The attempted drug swap was first discovered when constable Ray Linneman noticed drugs hidden in a toilet.

Linneman says when Coleman used the bathroom, the drugs disappeared and Panko was arrested.

However, later, Coleman’s husband Robert Goode showed up and is accused of also trying to bring in tobacco and marijuana to give to Coleman. Goode was also arrested.

Goode and Panko are being held at the Robinson Township Police Department and are awaiting charges.

As for Coleman, officials believe that she inserted the drugs into her body and are waiting to search her for the drugs. Coleman will also likely face additional charges.

Officials say this type of occurrence is not uncommon and was not the first time someone has tried to sneak in contraband for an inmate.
